According to Darren Rovell of ESPN.com and merchandising experts, RGIII’s jersey was the highest selling jersey in a single year in NFL history. Although, the rankings have only been tracked since 2001, RGIII is presumed to be the first Washington Football Team teammate to ever achieve the sales record.
According to the Washington Post , the Washington Football Team as a whole finished fourth behind Cowboys, Steelers, Giants, Ravens, 49ers, and Patriot, in merchandising sales. Given the Washington Football Team history this is a huge accomplishment for the team who haven’t ranked in the top five in sales since 1993.
