Whenever Jay-Z and Beyonce get together, something magical ensues. We’ve seen it in Blue Ivy and have heard it in gems like “Crazy In Love.” Simply put: they’re unstoppable. This weekend Hov and Bey were photo’d in the studio, both of them focused on the task at hand. The image was later removed but the thought of a new Beyonce, Jay-Z collabo on the horizon, replayed in everyone’s mind like their infectious duet– “Upgrade U.”

With a possible new classic in the making, we must ask, which of their tunes are your favorite:

“’03 Bonnie & Clyde”

Before Hov and Bey announced that they were an item, they tapped into the Hip Hop crate with “classic” scribbled across the facade, to modernize Tupac’s hood hit “Me & My Girlfriend.” In case you don’t remember, this is when Bey introduced the world to the Manolo Blahnik timberland boots that later turned into Steve Madden glory. The remixed rendition served as Jay’s lead single off “The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse.”

“Crazy In Love”

Beyonce established herself as a solo artist with the release of her single “Crazy In Love,” in 2003. The Rich Harrison produced, trumpet heavy tune was sampled from The Chi-Lites’ 1970 song “Are You My Woman (Tell Me So).” It sold over eight million copies making it one of the best selling singles of all time (of all time: Kanye West voice). Jay-Z’s verse took the 70s inspired Grammy award winning song to new heights.

“Deja Vu”

Three years after the massive success of “Crazy In Love,” Beyonce and Jay-Z joined graces for “Deja Vu,” a funky song filled with soul. Bey displayed her vocal range on the “B-Day” single which peaked at number four on the Billboard charts. “Deja Vu” generated mixed reviews from critics and a petition from fans who insisted she re-shoot the controversial video. Hov added his signature swag to the track and appeared in the protested visuals beside Bey. She famously held onto his belt as she entered a back-bend.

“Upgrade U”

A few months later, sometime in November, King Bey dropped “Upgrade U,” a melody that will forever act as the soundtrack to our wannabe lives. Bey introduced us to VVS cufflinks, Diamond Cream Facials (which goes for about $300 a jar) while Hov rapped about Audemar time pieces and Bubbles Loraine Schwartz. Hot visuals followed the ostentatious tune. We still don’t know half of she is talking about but it remains one of our favorites!

Of all the Jay-Z, Beyonce collaborations “Hollywood” is the most underrated and possibly their best one to date! With Jay-Z leading the way, Bey followed suit on the disco-inspired “Kingdom Come” anthem. Bey’s professionally trained vocals enhanced the Swizz Beatz production and even though it only charted at number 56 on the Billboard charts, it remains a fan favorite.

“Lift Off”

Beyonce added her female touch on a testosterone filled “Lift Off.” Bey made her presence felt on the “Watch The Throne” with an enthusiastic hook and live momentum that was praised by MTV’s Alvin Blanco as “resounding… sounds like it was tailor-made to be performed in large stadiums.”
