“Radio One DC Stations Teaming Up With Whitman Walker Health To Raise Money For HIV/AIDS Research

Washington, DC- Radio One DC Stations (93.9) WKYS-FM; (102.3) WMMJ- FM; (104.1)-WPRS-FM and (1340)-WYCB-AM and (1450)WOL-AM will serve as the official 2012 Media Sponsors for the Annual “Whitman Walker Health Citywide HIV/AIDS 5k Walk” on Saturday October 27th, 2012 at Freedom Plaza located in Washington, DC.

The event will start at 8am and end at 11am. Last year, more than$850,000 was raised for Whitman Walker Health HIV/AIDS Research. The District has an increasing number of men and women who are diagnosed with HIV/AIDS each year. The walk will give the community a chance to become active participants in raising funds for the knowledge and treatment of AIDS. More than 20,000 are expected to participate this year.
