My Majic 102.3 is embracing local talent and so every Monday, Mymajicdc.com will prominently feature a local artist on the site.

One Monday out of the month, My Majic 102.3 will host a New Music Monday listening party that will feature an artist that has been featured online and has received the most votes.

This week’s featured artist is Deborah Bond.

Bio:

Deborah Bond is a self-proclaimed “people watcher, dreamer and lover of philosophy”, Debórah Bond (pronounced De-BOR-rah) credits Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, and Sade as the roots which shaped her sound.  Her unique and “eclectic mix of R&B, funk and Brit soul” receives accolades from fans and critics worldwide.  The debut album “DayAfter”, and the remix album “AfterDay”, established Debórah Bond’s reputation as both a deeply sensitive, spiritual, sincere artist and a funky diva with captivating stage presence.  While creating MADAM PALINDROME, Deborah found time spread her wings creatively collaborating with Japanese dj duo StudioApartment, avant garde hip hop group The Cornel West Theory and groundbreaking rapper Born-I.  Since her 2003 debut Bond has performed alongside the Foreign Exchange, Ronny Jordan, Ledisi and Trina Broussard.  As a solo artist, Deborah Bond has opened for artists such as Rahsaan Patterson, Fertile Ground and Goapele.
