(Washington, DC) — The Godfather of Go-Go, Chuck Brown will celebrate his 75th birthday with the National Symphony Orchestra.
During the Labor Day Concert on the Capitol grounds, the orchestra will salute Brown, then invite him on stage so they can “bust loose” together. Brown, who learned to play guitar while serving time in prison is credited with creating the Go-Go, funk and soul sound in the 70s. He says he never dreamed he’d play with an orchestra.
