DC Area To Be Under Excessive Heat Warning

(Washington, DC) — The National Weather Service says an Excessive Heat Warning for the District and surrounding areas will be in effect from noon until 8 p.m. today and tomorrow. Hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are likely. Forcasters say high temperatures will be hovering around the 100-degree mark with a heat index of up to 115.
