(London)  — President Obama is in France today for the G8 Summit.   The global economy is on the agenda.  The President will also have private meetings with Russia’s President and Japan’s Prime Minister.  Obama said earlier this week that he would use the G8 meetings to promote democracy in the Middle East and North Africa.  Yesterday, the President and British Prime Minister David Cameron held bilateral talks in London on security and the global economy.  Following their discussions, the two leaders held a joint news conference calling the relationship between the U.S. and the U.K. “stronger than ever.”  Obama and Cameron also vowed to work together to step up the fight against al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.
