Radio One DC Stations Teaming up with The DC 100 Black Men Promoting

Health & Fitness

Washington, DC- Radio One DC Stations (WPRS-FM/WMMJ-FM/WKYS-FM/WOL-AM/WYCB-AM) have teamed up with (The 100 Black Men of Greater Washington, DC Inc.,) for their Citywide Health Fair, Saturday, May 21st from 8a-12p at Spingarn High School located at 2500 Benning Rd, NE Washington, DC. The event will also feature health screens, vendors and the large (Tommie Smith Track Meet). Smith is a U-S Olympic Medalist and was recently awarded The Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama. Last year, more than 1800 attended the event.

Who: Radio One DC Stations & The 100 Black Men of Greater Washington Health Fair and Citywide Track Meet

What: Will host their Annual Citywide Community Health-Fair with White House Freedom Medal Winner & Olympian Tommie Smith. The event promotes physical fitness in the black community on the heels of First Lady Michele Obama’s “Let’s Move Campaign”.

Why: To raise awareness and education around childhood obesity
