Today marks the 10-year anniversary of R&B star and budding actress Aaliyah Dana Haughton’s death in a plane crash.
Just 22 years old at the time of her death, she was in the Bahamas heading back to the States after wrapping up her 2001 music video, “Rock The Boat.”

Next month marks the 10th anniversary of Aaliyah’s untimely death and BET plans to air a special tribute to the singer to honor her life.
