Eight years ago today, the entertainment industry lost one of its brightest stars when Aaliyah Dana Haughton, 22, was killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas. A multi-platinum recording artist, fashion icon, philanthropist, and burgeoning actress, Aaliyah left behind a body of work that made an undeniable impact on R&B music and remains a testament to her many talents. Today, NewsOne celebrates her life with a look back at some of her best moments.
