(Washington, DC)  —  Starting today Metrobus riders must use a SmarTrip card to get on board.  Yesterday, was the last day that paper bus passes were used, prompting many riders to finally go out and get a SmarTrip card.  The seven-day regional bus pass can still be loaded on to one of those cards, and the cost is still the same.  However, instead of starting every Sunday, the new pass will begin whichever day riders first use it.  The seven-day passes can also be used on regional bus routes run by county governments, such as the Fairfax Connector and Montgomery County’s RideOn.
