soul train best dressed

Alyson Cambridge and Stephen Bishop get my vote for “Best Dressed” on the 2014 Soul Train Awards red carpet.

Even a music awards show like the 2014 Soul Train Awards is ALL about the red carpet fashion.  The stylist in me couldn’t be on the red carpet and not seek out the best (and worst) dressed of the evening.

“Best Dressed Female” easily went to operatic soprano Alyson Cambridge. That dress is to die for!  Michelle Williams was a distant second in a black, lace detail jumpsuit. It was tougher in the “Best Dressed Male”category as it’s hard to beat a custom made classic tuxedo on Boris Kodjoe‘s perfect physique.  But, Stephen Bishop took the win for originality.  The grey and burgundy plaid suit combo was a welcome change from the traditional tux and those gradient wingtips are not to be ignored.  Bishop was effortlessly stylish and certainly in trend.

Be sure to watch the Soul Train Awards 2014, hosted by Wendy Williams, Sunday, November 30th 8p/7C on Centric.
