There has been much suspicion and criticism of the NFL since TMZ leaked a second video from the domestic abuse incident that took place between former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice and Janay Palmer–his fiancee at the time–back in February.  The initial recording that went public showed Rice pulling his unconscious fiancee (currently his wife) out of a hotel elevator and tapping her with his foot in an attempt to bring her to consciousness.

Last night, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell spoke to CBS News  and struggled to explain why the NFL never saw the second video that showed Ray Rice punching Janay in the face.  Goodell claims the NFL asked the authorities for the tape to no avail.  The looming question from TMZ and other critics is, “So why didn’t [Goodell] then simply go to directly to the source — the Revel Casino?”
