Hey fam, I am in my sixth week as Midday Host on Majic 102.3 and I want to express my gratitude to all of you for your kindness and support. When I arrived, I had no idea about what 10am – 3pm was actually going to sound like. I’d decided before my first day that I would flow with you (our listening family) and feel my way around developing a show for you. You’ve made my job so easy. So far, together we’ve created one of the most hype and interactive times of the day which is “The 12 O’Clock Happy Hour.” It runs from 12 noon until just before 1pm where we just have a good time doing what I call “Making Happy.” Yes, there is lots of winning, lots of smiles and laughter and lots of great music. Another feature that your presence helped me to create is “The Midday Replay.” That is where moments with you and special guests are captured and highlighted to re-cap the entire day. Additionally, I like to share bits of information that might prove helpful in our day-to-day lives as well as introduce you to some interesting people whose work might inspire you. Speaking of inspiration, our founder Ms. Cathy Hughes is one of my inspirations. I’ve read and studied and watched her from a bit of a distance and proud to now be a part of her company, Radio One. We are about 15 days away from Caucus Week. DC will be filled with movers and shakers and thinkers and advisers and opinion givers. All here to discuss and discover things indicative to our community and to decide on a course of action. This year, our own Ms. Cathy Hughes will be honored at The Phoenix Awards which is the culminating event of the 44th Annual Legislative Conference. I plan to be right there to see it all and then come back and tell you all about it once I hit the airwaves. Thank you so much and keep listening to Majic in the Midday!
