Washington Washington Football Team v Houston Texans

The Washington Washington Football Team opened up the 2014 NFL regular season in Houston, and lost to the Texans 17-6. Special teams was a factor, GIVING Houston a TD on a blocked punt and missing an extra point. QB Robert Griffin was efficient, but not spectacular, going 29-37, no TDs, no INTS. RB Alfred Morris rushed 14 times for 91 yards, and the defense was solid, allowing 316 total yards. But they did allow the Texans to go 50% on 3rd down, and couldn’t get off the field in a key stretch in the 4th quarter.

New head coach Jay Gruden was not pleased . The team has it’s home opener next week vs. The Jacksonville Jaguars at FedEx Field. The Jags led the Philadelphia Eagles at one point in their opener 17-0, but then proceeded to give up 34 unanswered points, in a 34-17 loss. Other notable upsets: Atlanta defeated New Orleans 37-34 in OT, Tennessee defeated Kansas City 26-10, and Miami shocked New England 33-20. For all the scores CLICK HERE.
