DJ Cassidy is famously known for his work on celebrity functions such as the 2009 inauguration of  President Barack Obama and the 2008 wedding of one of the most talked celebrity couples, Jay Z and Beyonce.

His long awaited album will finally be here in the fall and you’re guaranteed to be in for a musical treat!

“I used live musicians, no samples, no covers, no machines…22 legendary, iconic musicians of the 1970’s to the early 1980′, back in one room for the first time to capture their definitive sound and bring it to young people,” he says.

A feat like that is sure to be expensive, but DJ Cassidy’s vision was worth more. He funded the entire project up until he signed with Columbia Records.

“I got signed to Columbia a year and a half ago but I started working on this album over four years ago,” Cassidy said.

So when did his love for music first start?

“I asked for turn tables for my 10th birthday and when I turned 18 I started deejaying in the hottest clubs around town, right here in New York City.”

On his musical inspirations:

“I looked up to Kool Herc, Grand Master Flash and the fore founders of Hip Hop.

His favorite party record of all-time:

“Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough by Michael Jackson.”
