Rain is in the forecast for the 91st annual tree lighting ceremony and pre-show featuring Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, Janelle Monae, Nolan Williams, Jr. and Voices of Inspiration and others this evening at 4:30 on the Ellipse near the White House.
Tickets are required to attend the event, those without tickets can watch the lighting live at www.thenationaltree.org and on public television throughout December.
Expect delays and congestion due to closures on 15th and 17th Streets with limited bus service in the area. Downtown Metro stops are expected to be extra crowded as well.
