(Washington, DC)  —  The U.S. Supreme Court is refusing to review a part of Maryland’s gun control laws.  By declining the case, the high court justices are letting stand a state law that requires residents to show a “good and substantial reason” to get a permit to carry a handgun in public.  In March, a federal appeals court reversed a lower court’s ruling against the requirement.  The Second Amendment Foundation challenged the law on behalf of a Baltimore County man who was unable to get a handgun permit renewal.
