(United Nations)  —  President Obama is calling on the United Nations to enforce a global ban on chemical weapons.  In his fifth address to the UN General Assembly, Obama cited clear evidence that the Syrian regime of President Bashar al-Assad used chemical weapons in a recent, deadly attack.  He called on the UN Security Council to embrace a U.S.-Russian deal to put Syrian chemical weapons under international control.  President Obama also announced that the U.S. is sending another 340-million dollars in humanitarian aid to Syria.
