Zimmerman Jury Deliberating

Six women, five are mothers, have begun deliberating the guilt or innocence of George Zimmerman in the death of 17 year old, unarmed Trayvon Martin. While it seems this would have been a slam dunk for the prosecution, it is a bit more complicated than that.

Judge Debra Nelson told jurors they must find, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Zimmerman is guilty of a crime. “You must presume innocence. … Zimmerman is not required … to prove anything,” she said. “The state must prove the alleged crime was committed. It’s up to the state to prove his guilt.”
