Last night the internet was ablaze with video as America’s newest hero told reporters of how he came to help three women who have been missing for almost a decade. That hero is Charles Ramsey, of Cleveland, Ohio who happened to have a day off and decided to eat some McDonald’s on his porch.

The three women were kidnapped by Ariel Castro, and two others have also been taken into custody for involvement in the abductions. Amanda Berry, abducted at the age of 17 after leaving her job at Burger King, is also being hailed as a hero in her desperate attempt to escape from Castro’s home.

Berry yelled out to Ramsey as she tried to escape through a door. Ramsey with a fellow neighbor helped kick in the door to help who they thought was a victim of a domestic dispute.

Two other women were rescued as well, Georgina DeJesus who was abducted at the age of 14 in 2004, and Michelle Knight, abducted at 19 in 2002. The women, including Berry, were believed by many to have been dead but their parents insist they never gave up and their efforts have finally paid off.

Neighbors told police they had no idea but Castro was a little strange. He never let them inside and there was an incident a few years back of a naked woman in his backyard.

However, Ramsey insist that by all means Castro was normal, mentioning they barbecued and listened to music together.

One of the victim’s relatives even played in a band with Castro.

Ramsey has become the focus of the story to a certain extent and after watching the videos below, we’re sure you’ll understand why.
