The American Cancer Society will honor Tanya Snyder, wife of Washington Football Team owner Daniel M. Snyder and NFL Breast Cancer Awareness Spokesperson, with the Washington, D.C. Mother of the Year Award during a luncheon at The Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, May 8th, 2013.

The Mother of the Year Award honors remarkable women who successfully balance business initiatives and philanthropic campaigns, all while considering their most important jobs to be mothers and wives. The award also recognizes the exemplary work, compassion and dedication honorees have toward the advancements in cancer treatment, detection and prevention.

As a breast cancer survivor, Mrs. Snyder has become a prominent presence in the fight against breast cancer. She serves as the NFL’s National Spokesperson for Breast Cancer Awareness in the league’s “A Crucial Catch” initiative and is the driving forces behind the Zeta Tau Alpha THINK-PINK campaign, as well as the franchise’s annual All-Stars Survivors Celebration.

Proceeds from the awards luncheon will directly benefit the American Cancer Society. For more information on the American Cancer Society or the Mother of the Year luncheon, visit www.cancer.org<http://www.cancer.org>.
