Boyfriend jeans are a big trend this season. One of my style clients recently asked the difference between boyfriend jeans, cropped jeans, and ankle jeans. Cropped jeans usually stop mid calf or a noticeable distance above the ankle. Ankle jeans stop at or just above the ankle. Boyfriend jeans may be ankle jeans, cropped jeans or full length. The key determining factor in what makes a boyfriend jean is the cut. Boyfriend jeans have a relaxed fit and look as if the woman is wearing her boyfriend’s trousers. I love this Ralph Lauren model’s look in the photo above. The designer commits to the “boyfriend” look from head to ankle, then goes uber feminine with a strappy metallic heel. Marvelous! Ladies, when pulled off correctly, there is nothing frumpy about the boyfriend look. Giving a little mystery makes a man more curious about what is underneath.
