Got juice?  Calm down Bishop!  I’m not referring to street cred.  I’m talking about real fruit and vegetable juice.  Juicing has been around for decades but has become more popular in recent years as the health and wellness industry continues to boom and celebrities endorse the practice.  There is still much speculation around the true benefits of juicing as some medical professionals caution against claims that juicing can reduce the risk of certain illnesses like heart disease, mental illness and certain cancers.

Personally, I enjoy juicing and utilize it as a method of detoxifying my body and a fun and easy way to get daily required nutrients.   About 6 months ago, I successfully completed a 5 day detox where I only drank fresh fruit and vegetable juice.  I felt great and lost 10 pounds.   I am currently embarking on another juice fast and will share some of the recipes with you.

I am not encouraging you to juice.  Rather, I am sharing my journey and unique results with you.  Please consult your physician before deciding to go on any type of juice fast (long term or short term).

Today I drank carrot apple juice for breakfast.  I got the recipe from a book called, “Fresh Juice Recipes & Meal Planner” that came with my Juiceman Juicer.

Carrot Apple Juice

6 carrots

2 apples

This Pineapple/Mango/Lime/Ginger juice is so delicious I had it for lunch, dinner and a snack.  I got the recipe off the Internet and tweaked it to my liking.  Be careful not to overdo the lime and ginger as the flavor of both can be over powering.

Pineapple Mango Lime Ginger Juice

1 pineapple

1 mango

1 cm of ginger

1/4 lime
