Bowie, MD–  The New 100 Black Men of Prince George’s County Chapter  was given full approval from the National 100 Black Men of America yesterday.

“Many residents have embraced the fact that we have much to offer, providing a results-oriented environment through MENTORING (which is the cornerstone of the 100 Black men of America, Inc.) and offer creative outlets for the youth in the County. Most, if not all of the concerned attendee’s were either already involved in the for or not for profit sectors, small business owners, activists, government officials, law enforcement and introducing valuable tools to assist in reducing crime by empowering youth, families and communicating in a positive manner,” said Acting President Walter Kirkland.

A 100 Black Men Interest Group officially introduced a Charter request to join the 100 Black Men of America, Inc., as a Chapter during the weekend of Martin Luther King’s National Remembrance Month in Lanham, Maryland. The organizers for the event and concerned community organizers and constituents offered their sentimental commitment, dedication and energy toward implementing and maintaining a 100 Black Men Chapter in Prince George’s County.

The 100 Black Men of Prince George’s County will be the leading provider of caring, inspirational and empowering mentoring services that provide a strong foundation of support for African -American youth and their families in Prince George’s County

The mission of the 100 Black Men of Prince George’s County is to provide caring and transformative leadership and mentoring guidance that encourages, engages and challenges African -American youth and young adults to exceed their personal expectations.

100 Black Men of Prince Georges County’s NEW Chapter Ceremony will be held January 12th, 2013 at  Keller Williams Realtors Office 9701 Apollo Drive, 4th floor Largo, Maryland. The ceremony will start at 12:00pm.
