Marylander’s, your Homestead Tax Credit is about to expire unless you file a one time application to continue to receive this credit on your primary residence in Maryland. The reason why is because some property owners were improperly receiving the credit on vacation homes and rented properties.
Here’s the bite, if you don’t file the Homestead Eligibility Application by Dec. 31 you’ll have to pay the additional tax in 2013 and beyond until you file for the credit.
