Artist bio:
Soul/hip-hop R&B with a bounce and a new twist. Old-School was written by Ashford-Brown and co-produced along with her Producer, Derek Wille. Taken from her 2009 cd titled, Just Doing Me the cd put her on the map abroad proving tremendous, international success. This dance track is only one of several tacks from the cd which has received countless downloads on ITunes, Amazon and CDbaby. Last September it had everyone bouncing and singing along during a performance on the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage. The cd has taken Ashford-Brown abroad in the Netherlands, Hamburg, Germany, Costa Brava, Spain and most recently, The U. K. along with her mentor, Dexter Wansel and Al Johnson. A regular at the historical Blues Alley you can find many performances of this artist on YouTube, including a very popular tribute to the late, Phyllis Hyman whom she has often been compared with.
