After months of prompting, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas finally disclosed the money his wife made working for Liberty Central, a political organization that has openly opposed President Obama’s health care reform.

Details of Virginia Thomas’ salary and other payments came Friday night as the press and most Americans prepared for the Memorial Day weekend. Critics have questioned her affiliation with the group, believing it may influence her husband’s independence on the bench.

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D. N.Y) has led the charge against Thomas to disclose the details. On Friday, Weiner took to Twitter to taunt the justice for burying the story. Ironically, the details of Thomas’ disclosure come at a time when they are overshadowed by Weiner’s own controversy that arose when a lewd photo was sent to a college co-ed from the representative’s Twitter account.

His new financial disclosure form indicates that his wife, Virginia, who served as Liberty Central’s president and CEO, received $150,000 in salary from the group and less than $15,000 in payments from an anti-health care lobbying firm she started.
